The North Borneo Railway is Sabah and Borneo’s oldest running steam locomotive that seeks to capture the nostalgia of a bygone era.
Your North Borneo Railway journey meanders through villages and coastal towns, paddy fields, rain forests and plantations of rubber and coffee. The North Borneo Railway offers passengers a glimpse into the bygone era of the British North Borneo, transporting passengers along what used to be the lifeline of Sabah.
Bringing you back to the days of the North Borneo Chartered Company and the British Colonial Office, the North Borneo Railway has been refurbished to accurately capture the romance of steam train travelers. Both its exterior and interior reflects what would have been typical of stepping onto a train in the 1900s.
North Borneo Railway operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays only. Seats are very limited and we recommend early booking.
