Day 1
Arrival Sandakan

Pick up at the airport followed by transfer to your hotel in Sandakan. You will be staying at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in the midst of Sandakan city.

Day 2
Turtle Island

Early morning pick-up from your hotel, follwed by a one-hour boat transfer to he Turtle Island Park.

You will have the afternoon free at your leisure. You can take this opportunity to explore the island and enjoy the sandy beach. You can also go swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters.

After dusk, the turtle landings will start and with the help of the park rangers, you can witness the turtles laying their eggs.

Day 3
Sukau – Kinabatangan River

After breakfast, you will return to Sandakan and visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a stroll on the boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at 10.00am.

After lunch, transfer by land to the multi-award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge, along Sabah's longest river, the Kinabatangan River.
After checking in and enjoying your afternoon refreshment, you will go on a river cruise in search of some of the 10 primate species.

Sukau is home to the famous Bornean pygmy elephants, orang utans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo.

Return for solar heated hot shower, candle-lit dinner overlooking the riverbanks, followed by slideshow presentation and nature interpretation by a naturalist guide.

Overnight stay at the newly renovated 20-room Sukau Rainforest Lodge, which in 2015 was awarded by National Geographic to be one of the most Unique Lodges in the World.

Day 4
Sukau – Kinabatangan River

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea!

At 6.00am, you will go on a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed to have an educational tour at our own in-house Hornbill Boardwalk, located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to have another river cruise for more wildlife sighting. Overnight stay at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5
Sepilok Nature Resort

After breakfast you will return to Sandakan city. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the Sepilok Nature Resort and the rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy at leisure.

Day 6
Sepilok Nature Resort

The day is Free and Easy. Enjoy the beautiful verdant surrounding of Sepilok. There are also attractions within walking distance of the Sepilok Nature Resort that you can visit.

Optional tours (Not included): City Tour Sandakan, Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Labuk Bay & Rainforest Discovery Centre.

Day 7
Kinabalu Park

We leave the East coast and Sandakan behind us and drive inland towards the massive Mount Kinabalu.

The Mount Kinabalu National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most important biological sites in the world, containing more than 4,500 species of flora and fauna.

You will stay overnight in Kundasang and if the weather permits, you will get to witness a gorgeous view of Mount Kinabalu.

Day 8
Mount Kinabalu

The climb starts at the Timpohon Gate. From here, you will climb up to the Laban Rata Rest House (3,352 meters above sea level) – a trek of about 4-5 hours, depending on your fitness level.

The trek is a scenic one and you can see how the vegetation changes depending on the altitude. Overnight stay at the Laban Rata Dormitory.

Day 9
Mount Kinabalu Summit – Kota Kinabalu

The summit climb starts at 2am, starting at Laban Rata (3,352 meters asl) all the way to Low's Peak (4,095 meters asl).

The climb to the top takes about three to four hours. This is the most challenging part of the climb, with several steep places to conquer. There are ropes and stairs available at the most challenging places.

When you reach the summit, you will witness a beautiful sunrise. You will then start your descent back to the Timpohon Gate.

From there, you will be transferred back to Kota Kinabalu and check into your hotel for the night.

Day 10

Transfer to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your departure flight.
