Located within easy reach from Kuching city, the Bako National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Malaysia. For nature lovers, this park offers an exciting opportunity to spot various wildlife, such as the proboscis monkey, silver leaf monkey, long-tailed macaque, wild boar, monitor lizard as well as numerous species of birds.
The Bako forest types range from mangrove to heath (kerangas) forest, tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. The coastline of the Bako National Park is dotted with smaller bays, coves and beaches. Bako’s most distinct features lie in its secluded coves and rugged rocky headlands with magnificent steep cliffs that are chisseled by millions of years worth of weathering and erosion.
In addition to the wildlife density, the Bako National Park also showcases a wide variety of endemic Bornean floras like the carnivorous pitcher plants and wild orchids.
